Treatment of Water Containing Dyes Using Cellulose Aerogels

Abstract In recent years, there has been an interest in the study of new methods for removal dyes from water due to its large-scale use different industries, example, paper printing, textile, leather, pharmaceutical, food or technological applications. It is estimated that more than 700 thousand tons about 10 000 types are produced annually. Most them synthetic origin and can generate adverse effects, teratogenic, mutagenic carcinogenic action. Dyes mainly applied textile industry, they usually classified into anionic (acid dyes), cationic (basic dyes) non-ionic (disperse dyes. The direct discharge environment cause various damages plants animals: block penetration sunlight, reduce photosynthetic efficiency aquatic ultimately destroy ecological balance ecosystem. This determined adsorption congo red, methylene blue, rhodamine B naphthol green used industry by using aerogel – adsorbent synthesized waste. Total carbon was selected as indicator dye concentration solution. An increase fibre content 3 % 5 contributes improvement properties. decrease red after process 31.0 38.0 respectively; blue 2.49 8.15 %; 28.04 34.14 1.28 4.13 %.
